The RGtk package works with gtk-1.2. There is some support in place for 2.* which can be activated with the command line argument --with-gtk2 to the configuration script.

The RGtk package supports the Gtk and Gdk libraries and, optionally, the Gnome library. The configuration for the RGtk package looks for gtk-config and pkg-config to compute the compiler and linker flags needed to create the shared libraries. If support for Gnome is active, we look for gnome-config.
